Short Course Certificate in Fire Safety
This short course certificate covers fire safety knowledge required by employees or supervisors in vocational industries. It also provides professional development opportunities to those already employed as supervisors to meet their legislative obligations as “persons in charge of a place of work”.
Graduates will able to:
- understand basic principles of the chemistry and physics of fire;
- identify fire classes and suppression techniques;
- suppress fires with hand extinguishers and fixed-hose reels;
- manage and carry out workplace evacuation requirements; and
- carry out fire and emergency warden duties.
