The School of Forestry and Primary Industries would like to thank STIHL for their support of the teams and individuals that entered the chainsaw skills racing event at Mystery Creek in the weekend.
STIHL NZ are fantastic supporters of the teaching and students at Waiariki Institute of Technology.
The chainsaw skills racing provides a platform for students and tutors alike to test their skills against their peers who work full time in industry.
The Forestry School were competitive but unable to bring home the big prizes. However the rewards that the attendees did receive were greatly appreciated.
The next event on the calendar now is the Kawerau Woodfest in September 2010 where the Forestry School will be co-ordinating a similar skills course.
