This is a practical course aimed at the planning of successful cable logging operations. It focuses on the needs of:
* Contractors Crew Foremen * Logging Supervisors * Harvest Planners
The course extends harvest planning principles to on-site operational planning and is ideal for contractors and foremen wanting to ensure that they maximise the productivity from their cable harvesting operations.
Logging Supervisors and Harvest Planners will also benefit from the course by interacting with practitioners and seeing how their planning decisions can impact on cable operations.
Shane McMahon, from Work Smart Forestry will be assisting with the course and coordinating the planning component that will take participants through a step by step process from the harvesting plan to running out the strawline.
The course will be run over 3 days, from Tuesday the 29th June to Thursday the 1st of July 2010. Technical sessions will be held in Rm 02 of “O” Block, (The Treehouse) Waiariki Institute of Technology, Mokoia Drive, Rotorua, (see attached map).
