Diploma in Manufacturing students learn about the true costs of lost production.
The Diploma in Mnufacturing students are currently learning about 'Quality Improvement' in a production environment.

One of their assignments is to use scenarios to calculate the true cost of lost time.

When a number of factors are considered such as - machine down tie, repair costs, time of lost labour - the numbers very quickly run into the thousands of dollars.

The purpose of the course is to demonstrate to students just how important quality management is, and the need to focus on ensuring that every step in the manufacturing process is followed correctly.
