Helen Rowland
In 2002 she decided she would like a career that got her out and about a bit more and she enrolled on the 2.5 year, level 6 National Diploma in Forestry (Forest Management) program at Waiariki.
Helen has really enjoyed the program and she has excelled on it. She has also enjoyed working in the forest industry in her holiday breaks including some time assisting in the management of a tree nursery. She is currently working as a transport scheduler/dispatcher. This requires her to work with a team of people who plan, schedule and optimise the movements of a large truck fleet on a daily basis. It is challenging work, requiring a lot of problem solving and good communication. She is enjoying learning new skills and putting what she learnt at Waiariki into practice.
