After leaving the dairy industry nine years ago I joined Kiwi Lumber in Dannevirke and went from labouring to operations management through kiln operations and quality control. We moved to Putaruru three years ago.

The company saw benefit in what the Diploma offered after I had to present to the Board of Directors about it. It is not handed to you, you have to work for it.

The skills gained I can use outside the forest industry and make me attractive to a range of industries. The fact that so many of the skills gained can be used outside of the work place is also an added benefit.  The course is also a great networking opportunity
