Student Profiles

Steven Gray

Steven Gray is a young man with a passion for being outdoors and enjoying life.  Steven recently completed a Certificate in Forest Operations (Level 3) through Waiariki Institute of Technology.  Before starting the course brick laying was his primary means of employment.

Having completed the course in Taupo, New Zealand, Steven can now see clear pathways and opportunities for employment and a career within the Forest Industry.  The course took 16 weeks to complete which included theory work in the classroom and then practical experience working in the forest with existing forest operations crews.

Employers were quick to spot his potential and since successfully completing the course Steven has moved on to work for Ohlson-Gibbs Logging based in Taupo.

The School of Forestry and Primary Industries wishes Steven all the best for his future plans.
