Enrolment Process

Enrolments are generally accepted until the commencement of a course. However, since places are sometimes limited, please complete your application and enrolment process as early as possible to secure your place. All courses are subject to sufficient numbers and subject to final approvals. The enrolment process for international students varies. Contact the International Centre for more information.

How to Enrol

There are a few things that you need to do before starting your study at Waiariki:

- Send us your completed 2010 Application and Enrolment Form.

2 - We will acknowledge receiving your Application and Enrolment Form in writing.

- Contact StudyLink regarding student entitlements (i.e. loans and allowances).

- We will contact you about the outcome of your application/enrolment.

5 - We will process your application and enrolment and send you class details and an invoice.

6 - You arrange your fee payment.

7 - You can now apply to StudyLink for a student loan and/or allowance.

- You start your studies. If any of the information on your Application and Enrolment Form changes, including your contact details or course of study, you are required to inform us as soon as possible.

    If you have attended Waiariki in the past, we will have certain information already in our records. Please phone or visit your nearest campus to obtain a Returning Student Enrolment Form.

    If this is your first time enrolling at Waiariki, the institute requires you to complete one of the following forms:

    You must supply a certified copy of one of the following:

    • Birth Certificate
    • Passport
    • Marriage Certificate (if applicable and your name has changed )

    Post your form and copies to:
    Waiariki Institute of Technology
    Private Bag 3028
    Rotorua

    Or deliver to any of our campuses in Rotorua, Taupo, Tokoroa or Whakatane.

    Finally...
    You will receive notification from Waiariki that your Application and Enrolment Form has been received and you will be advised of the next steps to follow.

    Free Fees does cover secondary school leavers of 2008 with domestic student status (ref. Rule ENR002 TEC funding guide).

    Free Fees does not cover the following:

    * Course-related costs (e.g. textbooks, equipment, uniforms etc.)

    * Student association fees

    * Bachelor of Nursing

    * Christchurch College of Education's Bachelor of Teaching

    * International students

    Rule ENR002 states: For the purposes of Student Achievement Component funding the following learners have domestic student status:

    - A New Zealand citizen, which includes citizens of the Cook Island, Niue and Tokelau

    - A New Zealand permanent resident currently living in New Zealand

    - An Australian citizen currently living in New Zealand

    - An Australian permanent resident who has a returning resident's visa and is currently living in New Zealand

    - Certain exchange students* etc.
