Certificate in Forestry Fundamentals

The Certificate in Forestry Fundamentals is designed to give students a broad taste of the Forest industry.  Students are then able to pathwy into further forestry qualifications of their choice.

After successful completion of this qualification, students will have the skills and knowledge to be able to:

· maintain a chainsaw and make cuts;

· understand the importance of quality in forest operations;

· make good choices throughout the forest cycle to ensure the return is maximised;

· work safely and effective in forest establishment, tending and harvesting operations;

· keeping themselves and others safe in any forest operation;

· understand the issues and processes within the forest industry to the level required of an employee; and pursue an area of interest.

Note - to achieve the National Certificate in Forest Foundation Skills (Level 2) students must pass a total of 50 credits from the above courses.  These courses are available ongoing during the year.
